This small, independent broadband provider only launched in March 2023, but is proving popular already. Rebel has set itself apart from the competition with its transparent no-contract deals.
Broadband packages
Rebel Fibre
This is Rebel’s partial fibre plan, so should be available to the majority who can’t yet access full fibre broadband. With download speeds of 74Mbps it’s a decent package for browsing and streaming in households using up to 5-10 multiple devices at the same time.
Rebel 115
A fibre optic plan that offers an average 109 Mbps download speed with no download limits. Ideal for those uploading large content, streaming and online gaming.
Rebel 330
An impressive plan that powers an average speed of 300Mbps. This choice should manage the demands of even the heaviest data users, whether you’re streaming constantly or running a business from home.
Rebel 1000
Does your household really needs these superhero speeds of 944Mbps? Probably not, but when you get total peace of mind for the fastest broadband available that can cope with anything, it’s not surprising this is a very popular option.
Switching to Rebel
Switching to Rebel is easy. Once you’ve selected your package and start date, it normally takes around 16 days for your new order to go live. If you do need an engineer for a new line installation then Rebel will arrange for this. Or, if you already have a line in place, you’ll be posted out a router that just needs to be plugged in on your go-live date.
If Rebel are taking over an existing Openreach network (e.g. BT, EE, PlusNet, TalkTalk, Vodafone) there will be no need for you to inform your current provider that you’re leaving. However, if you are having a new service installed (normally this will only be anyone who wants to leave Virgin Media), you’ll need to get in touch with your current provider to cancel directly with them.
Optional landline
You can choose a digital phone line as an add-on option for an extra £10 a month. This includes unlimited domestic phone calls and no set-up or equipment fees. This new home phone service replaces the need for a traditional analogue landline as it’s powered by broadband connection and plugs into the back of your router.
Excellent customer service
With a TrustPilot Rating of 4.7+ from over 100+ independently verified customer reviews, Rebel say: "Excellent customer service is our obsession”. 100% of their customer support team is based locally in the UK.
Fixed-price guarantee
Most of the big broadband providers increase monthly prices in line with the retail or consumer price index each year during your contract causing your payments to increase mid-contract. But this is something that Rebel are openly against. They believe in fair and transparent pricing. This means that prices are fixed for the contract period and there will be no in-contract price rises or inflation linked price hikes.
They also don’t dramatically increase your price once you are off contract. In comparison, some providers will more than double your payments once you fall out of contract.
Modern Wi-Fi Router
Rebel broadband packages all include a free and simple-to-install router. The WiFi 6 Rebel RI Router is a decent bit of equipment which as its name might suggest, is future-proofed to support the next generation of Wi-Fi 6 devices. It also has four ports, allowing you to use a wired connection for up to four devices at once.
Rebel also offers powerful boosters as an add-on for bigger households. Its advanced Wi-Fi tri-band SuperPods just need to be plugged directly into the wall and have three different radios that carry your data traffic and avoid any delays or congestion.
