Community Fibre launches ‘Fibre to your room’ installation option

London-based broadband provider Community Fibre has launched a new ‘Fibre to Your Room’ installation service – giving customers the freedom to choose exactly where their fibre connection is set up for the best performance in their home.

The full fibre operator has now rolled out its 5 Gbps network to more than 1.34 million homes and around 185,000 businesses across London and parts of South East England. Backed by around £1 billion in funding, Community Fibre has already connected over 400,000 customers and continues to expand beyond the capital.

What is ‘Fibre to Your Room’?

The new service lets customers pick the most convenient spot in their home – such as an office, study or gaming setup – rather than being limited to where the fibre enters the property.

Community Fibre engineers will neatly route up to 40 metres of fibre cable from the entry point to your chosen location. The installation is designed to be tidy and discreet, with any necessary internal drilling kept minimal and properly sealed once complete.

The upgrade is available to both new and existing customers on any package or contract length, for a one-off fee of £75.

What’s included

  • Up to 40 metres of fibre cabling from the entry point
  • Professional, clean installation by Community Fibre engineers
  • Option to position your broadband setup in any main room
  • Available on all broadband speeds, including the provider’s top-tier 5 Gbps plan

Note that garden rooms, garages or separate outbuildings are not eligible for this service.

Why it matters

Most broadband engineers will let you choose roughly where your router and connection box (ONT) go, but Community Fibre’s new service goes a step further – offering greater flexibility and a more polished setup. It’s a handy option for anyone who works from home, streams in multiple rooms or wants the router positioned for stronger Wi-Fi coverage.
