Full fibre with speeds up to 2Gbps now live for 12,000 homes in Sleaford
Residents in Sleaford can sign up to Virgin Media’s Gig2 service, which delivers download speeds of up to 2Gbps. That’s enough to support the busiest of households – whether it’s working from home, streaming ultra-HD films, gaming online or making crystal-clear video calls. The new connections have been built on the nexfibre network, which is investing £4.5 billion in full fibre broadband across the UK. So far, nexfibre has reached 2.3 million premises, with Virgin Media O2 acting as its retail partner.
Virgin Media O2 is already offering gigabit speeds across its UK footprint and continues to upgrade its entire network to full fibre. The company spends around £2 billion a year improving services, while customers can also combine broadband and mobile plans through its Volt bundles, which include speed boosts, extra mobile data and roaming in 75 countries.
For Sleaford, the upgrade means thousands more homes can finally switch to ultrafast, reliable broadband. That means less buffering, smoother streaming and greater peace of mind when the whole family is online at the same time.
Julie Agnew, Managing Director of Fixed Network Expansion at Virgin Media O2, said:
“12,000 more homes in Sleaford can now feel the benefit of Virgin Media’s services – with packages that include everything from next-generation multigigabit broadband to easy-to-use TV streaming and entertainment services.”
