Next Fortnite patch lands tomorrow – here’s what to expect

When is the update?

The update is scheduled to launch on Thursday 25 September 2025, with downtime starting at around 9am UK time. You won’t be able to start a new game 30 minutes beforehand.

Based on past updates, servers are expected to be offline for 1.5 to 2 hours, meaning the game should be playable again by late morning.

What’s coming in v37.40?

While Epic Games rarely confirms everything in advance, leakers and community insiders have pointed to several highlights:

  • The Daft Punk Experience – a new interactive mode for fans of the legendary French duo.
  • A new Icon Series skin – tipped to be based on Fortnite pro player MrSavage.
  • Rumoured K-Pop Demon Hunters skins – heavily hinted at by trusted sources.
  • More Snoop Dogg collaborations – continuing the rapper’s long-running Fortnite tie-ins.
  • Proximity chat – now part of the Delulu LTM, making team communication more lively (and sometimes chaotic).

With Epic recently releasing back-to-back crossovers, players are expecting this patch to be packed.

What it means for your broadband

Fortnite isn’t just a game – it’s one of the biggest drivers of UK broadband traffic spikes. Whenever a major update drops, networks across the country see record levels of downloads as millions of players rush to grab the patch.

👉 Tip: If your broadband feels slow on update day, you’re not imagining it – Fortnite updates often coincide with peak demand. Switching to a full fibre package with higher speeds can help avoid long waits when downloading multi-gigabyte patches. See what packages are available to you with our broadband postcode checker.
